Every kind of code
How to turn a video into a QR code
- In your account, choose “Video”. This kind comes with the Grow plan and those above it.
- Upload the video as an MP4 file, up to 100 MB. If the file is stored somewhere else, paste its direct link instead.
- Give the video a title and, if you like, a few words about it and a picture shown before it plays.
- Design the code in your colours and with your logo, then download it and print it.
Where it is used
- A filmed greeting on a gift card or a wedding invitation.
- How to assemble or use a product, on the box or in the manual.
- A company film on a business card, in a brochure and at a trade fair stand.
- A walk-through of the place, on a sign by the door.
- A short lesson or an experiment, on a worksheet in class.
- A thank-you from the team, inside the order box.
What people see when they scan it
A page in your colours opens, with the video's title, the player and your words under it. It plays in the phone's browser, with no app and no account.
A video on YouTube, or a file of your own?
Already on YouTube? No need to upload it: make a free YouTube QR code. For videos on other platforms, use link to QR code.
If it is a file on your phone or computer, upload it here and replace it any time.
So that the video plays well
- The format is MP4. An iPhone may save a video as MOV: export it as MP4 before uploading.
- Up to 100 MB. A short video opens faster, and someone scanning on their feet watches a minute or two, not ten.
- Film upright if it will mostly be watched on a phone, so that it fills the screen.
- Choose a cover picture that shows what the video is, so people know what they are about to watch.
- Anybody who scans the code or is given its link can watch. Do not upload what you do not want people to see.
The video changes, the print does not
Replace the video or its title any time, and the printed code opens the new one at once. New product instructions? Replace the video, not the boxes. And you see how often it was scanned.
The “Video” kind comes with the Grow plan and those above it, and your file storage depends on your plan. Pricing
