How to make a QR code for Google reviews
- Open your Business Profile on Google while signed in, choose to get more reviews, and copy the “review link”. It usually starts with g.page.
- Or choose “Place ID” if you have it, and type the shop's name with it, as it appears on the map.
- Paste it in the field above, design the code in your colours and with your logo, and add a frame with words such as “Review us on Google”.
- Download it, scan it with your phone before printing to see where it leads, then print it.
What the customer sees
With the review link, the review box opens at once: they choose the stars and write a few words if they like. With the Place ID, your shop opens on Google Maps, the review button one tap away. The phone's camera is enough.
The customer writes the review from their own Google account, and it shows on your Business Profile like any other. It never passes through us.
Where to put it
- At the till, where a customer waits while paying.
- On the table, with the bill.
- On a small card in the bag or the delivery box.
- By the exit, or on the salon's mirror.
- In a hotel room or a holiday flat, by the door.
- On the thank-you note that goes with an order, and on the paper receipt.
The best moment to ask for a review is when the customer is pleased and still in the shop.
So that customers write their reviews
- Have your staff mention it and point to the code. Printed words alone work less well than a friendly request.
- Ask every customer. Google forbids asking only the pleased ones, and forbids a gift or a discount in return for a review.
- Answer the reviews, the good ones and the others. The next customer reads your answer before deciding.
- Put the code where customers see it while they wait at ease, not while they hurry out of the door.
- Want feedback only you see? A star rating code gathers it in your account; it comes with the Start plan and those above it.
Static or editable
The code from this page is static and free, with no account: it opens the review link directly, and works for as long as the link does.
Kept in your account, you see how often it was scanned and change where it leads if your link changes or the shop moves, without reprinting. The free plan keeps 3 codes editable, for good. The difference in detail
Questions about a Google review QR code
Where do I find the review link?
In your Business Profile on Google: search for your shop's name while signed in to your account, choose to ask for reviews, and copy the link.
The review link or the Place ID?
The link if you can: it opens the review box directly. The Place ID opens your shop's page on the map, with the review button one tap away.
Does the customer need a Google account?
Yes. Google accepts a review only from a signed-in account; that is its rule, not ours.
Can I show only the good reviews?
No. The code opens the review box for everybody who scans it, and we do not filter customers before they reach it: Google's policies forbid that.
I have several branches. One code, or one each?
One for each branch: each has its own page on Google Maps and its own reviews.
Is a QR code for Google reviews free?
Yes. The static code from this page is free, with no account, and never expires. An editable one lives in a free account, which keeps 3 codes editable, for good.
