Higher levels survive damage but make the code denser. A logo raises it to the highest level automatically.

Empty space around the code, in modules. Scanners need at least 4 for reliable reading.

Every kind of code

How to make a Snapchat QR code

  1. Type your username in the field above, as it shows on your Snapchat profile. Or paste the link of your public profile, or of a Spotlight video.
  2. Open “Design” if you like: your colours, the shape of the squares, a frame with a line such as “Add us on Snapchat”, and your logo in the middle.
  3. Scan the code on the screen with your phone, to be sure it opens your own account.
  4. Download it: PNG for screens, SVG or PDF for the printer.

What people see when they scan it

Snapchat opens on your profile with its “Add” button, so nobody types your name. Without the app, your page opens on Snapchat's website.

With a Spotlight link, that video starts.

How is it different from the yellow Snapcode?

Snapchat has its own yellow code, scanned with Snapchat's camera. This is an ordinary QR code any phone camera reads, in your colours and logo to match your shop and prints. Both lead to your account.

Where it is used

  • On the shopfront and at the till: “Add us on Snapchat for our offers first”.
  • On bags and delivery boxes, so customers add you once the order arrives.
  • At parties and family occasions, so guests add the occasion's account.
  • On a business card, next to your number and e-mail.
  • At a fair stand, so visitors follow you while you post from the event.

On more than one platform? A social profiles code gathers every account on one page, behind one code.

Before you print it

Scan it with a friend's phone who has not added you yet, to see what customers will. Then work out the size for the distance, and check the final artwork with the QR code scanner before printing the whole run.

Static or editable

The code from this page is static, free and needs no account. If you move to another account, you need a new code.

Kept in your account it becomes editable: you change the account or video it opens whenever you like without reprinting, and you see how often it was scanned. The free plan keeps 3 codes editable, for good. The difference in detail

Questions about a Snapchat QR code

Does scanning the code add me automatically?

No. Your profile opens with its “Add” button, and they are the ones who tap it.

Do they need Snapchat's camera to scan it?

No. The phone's camera reads it, then your profile opens in the Snapchat app, or on its website if they do not have the app.

Which name do I type: the display name or the username?

The username: the unique one in Latin letters and numbers. A display name leads to no account.

Can it open a Spotlight video?

Yes. Paste the video's link instead of the username.
