Advanced

Higher levels survive damage but make the code denser. A logo raises it to the highest level automatically.

Empty space around the code, in modules. Scanners need at least 4 for reliable reading.

File format

Every kind of code

How it works

  1. Type a first name, a last name, or both. That is all that is required.
  2. Add whatever should be saved with it: job title, company, phone number, e-mail, website and address.
  3. Design the code in your colours and with your logo, and download it.
  4. Scan it with your phone before printing. You see a contact card and the option to save it.

Where it is used

  • On a paper business card, so nobody copies your number by hand.
  • On a conference or trade fair badge, where the signal inside the halls is often weak.
  • On the door of a clinic or an office: visitors save the booking number before they walk off.
  • On a printed CV or portfolio.
  • On a gift card or an invitation, so the person can save your number.

What people see when they scan it

They see your name, number and e-mail, and tap to save. No app and no internet needed. And since the scan does not pass through us, its scans cannot be counted.

Three ways to share a contact: which one is yours?

  • This code (vCard): free with no account, and it scans offline. But it is fixed, has no photo, and cannot change once printed.
  • A business card: a page with your photo, accounts, a short bio and a “Save contact” button. Change it any time and see how often it was scanned. It needs an account, and whoever scans it needs internet.
  • MECARD: shorter than vCard with a simpler pattern, but no job title or company.

Before you print

  • Write your name as you want it to appear in people's contacts: it is what they will search for later.
  • Every field you fill in makes the code denser, so write only what people need.
  • Arabic takes more room than Latin letters, so print it a little larger. Work out the size
  • Try it on two different phones before a large print run, or open it in the QR code scanner to see what it holds.

Fixed once printed

This code is always static, never expires, and scans offline. If your number or e-mail changes, you print a new code.

If your details change, or you want a photo and links, choose the editable business card. The free plan keeps 3 codes editable, for good.

Questions about a vCard QR code

Does it work on iPhone and Android?

Yes. The camera on recent iPhones and Android phones reads it and offers to save the contact, with no app.

Does the person scanning need an internet connection?

No. The details are in the pattern, and the phone reads and saves them offline.

Can I add my photo and accounts?

Not with this type of code. A photo and accounts go in a business card code.

Can I add more than one phone number?

No. It has one field for a phone number and one for an e-mail address.

My number changed after printing. What now?

You print a new code: the old number is in the pattern and does not change.
